The UAE Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), the body responsible for developing the UAE's nuclear energy sector, has signed three agreements with China's nuclear energy organization as it seeks to promote low-carbon nuclear power, the Gulf Times reported Sunday.
The UAE is hosting the COP28 climate summit this year and has set a target of getting 6% of its energy needs from nuclear power as part of its plan for net-zero emissions by 2050. The country has previously said China would be a key partner in its energy transition plan.
