Alexander Volga, mayor of the municipality of Aenelgodar in Zaporoge Prefecture, said the Zaporoge nuclear power plant and its employees had begun to be integrated under Rosatom's jurisdiction.  At present, the plant's wages are paid by Russia.  

He noted that social, educational and infrastructure projects will be implemented with the support of Rosatom.  

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an order on October 5 to make the Zaporo nuclear power plant Russian, the report said.  

Located near the city of Enel Godard on the left bank of the Dnieper River, the Zaporo nuclear power plant is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.  It has been under the protection of Russian soldiers since March.  The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that the move was justified to avoid the leakage of nuclear and radioactive materials.  The Ukrainian military has regularly shelled the area of Enelgodar and the city's adjacent Zaporo nuclear power plant.
