At the Seventh Eastern Economic Forum held in Vladivostok, the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom) and the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) signed an agreement to build a nuclear powered mineral resources center in the Arctic region of the Sakha Republic.
Under the agreement, the Nuclear Power Mineral Resources Center will build a nuclear power plant, including two RITM-200N low-power reactors, with a planned capacity of 55,000 kW, which the Yakutia government is considering possibly increasing to 110 GW in the future. The resource centre, which includes the Kyuchus, Deputatskoye and Deputatskoye mines, will build transport and engineering infrastructure and civilian facilities, as well as a power transmission line.
