International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Giuseppe Grossi said Sunday that the remote transmission of data related to nuclear safety and operational safety at Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine has been fully restored.  
 
In a statement on its website, the IAEA said its technical staff visited the Chernobyl nuclear power plant on April 26-27, 2022, and completed the deployment of new transmission channels based on satellite technology, among other things, leading to the full resumption of information monitoring at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.  In addition, Grossi expressed the hope to visit the Zaporo nuclear power plant as soon as possible after the necessary consultations.  
 
At present, seven of the 15 reactors in Ukraine's four nuclear power plants are online, including two in Southern Ukraine, one in Khmelnitsky, two in Zaporoge and two in Rovna. The remaining eight reactors have been shut down for regular maintenance or are in a standby state.
